Last week, I had the amazing opportunity of staying at the Loews Sapphire Falls Resort on Universal Orlando property. It is the newest hotel out of the five resorts on Universal property but a sixth is in the process of being built. I have been to Universal many times in the past but this was my first time staying on the property. We were also able to check out the new Universal waterpark- Volcano Bay. Keep reading for my full review 🙂
Rooms- Loews Sapphire resort has 1,000 rooms available featuring standard rooms (two queen beds or one king) and family suites. We stayed in a standard room that featured two double beds, complimentary wifi, a mini refrigerator, tv, a full bathroom and closet. One of the best things about the resort is that they are pet friendly and have amazing pet accommodations including a pet gift bag when you arrive, pet walking areas and pet boarding at the parks.
Sapphire Falls Amenities- There is plenty to do on site at the hotel. The pool is one of the main attractions. Sapphire Falls has the biggest pool out of all the Universal resorts. There are sandy beach like areas, a walk in center, a water slide, a hot tub and private cabanas.
If you’re looking for things to do other than the pool you can relax for the day at the spa, head to the arcade, get a workout in at the gym, or enjoy dining at one of the restaurants on site.
Dining Options- There are four options for dining on hotel property with options from breakfast to dinner and even after dinner cocktails and dessert. They had one of the cutest coffee shops I have ever seen 🙂 The hotel also has a Caribbean Carnaval dinner show featuring authentic Caribbean food and music one nigh during the week. We were able to enjoy this during our first night and were blown away by the talent of the singers and dancers who took us on a journey through the Caribbean.
When staying at the resort you also have the option for room service 24 hours a day.

Convenience of being on Universal property- Since it was my first time staying on Universal property, I was pleasantly surprised by how convenient it was to get to the parks and CityWalk. The resort has a water taxi that takes you to the parks and back all day everyday so it was never an issue coming back to the hotel. That was really nice because we were able to head back to the hotel for a mid-day pool break or to freshen up before heading back over to CityWalk for dinner. If you don’t know, CityWalk is an area with a ton of shopping, dining and entertainment options. CityWalk is located right outside of the parks and has something to do for people of all ages.
During the second night of our stay we ate at Toothsome’s Chocolate Emporium (picture above) at CityWalk. This restaurant was an experience in itself and we had the best time. The food is incredible (see the picture of their milkshakes below), the atmosphere is outstanding and the people were so friendly.

One of the other perks of staying on property, is that you can get into the parks an hour earlier than all other guests. Talk about getting on the best rides before the lines get super long 😉
Overall- The resort was thought out so well with details in mind. It definitely felt like we were transported to a tropical island. We loved all the options for dining and wish we could have tried all the on site restaurants. The water taxi was the perfect mode of transportation and it was so nice not having to drive anywhere. The staff at Loews were very accommodating and took care of anything we needed them to! We sincerely LOVED our time spent at Loews Sapphire Falls Resort and can’t wait to visit again!
